The Department of Agriculture Forest Service awarded a $300,000 Cooperative Agreement (CFDA 10.664, Cooperative Forestry Assistance) to the Society of American Foresters on September 24, 2025, extending through August 31, 2030. Under this award, SAF will coordinate with Forest Service leadership and Wood Innovation Grant recipients to develop comprehensive digital media management strategy and project details aimed at promoting wood innovations. The deliverables center on content creation and strategic communications to advance wood products through coordinated messaging across federal and grant-recipient stakeholders.
As a nonprofit organization with established expertise in forestry communications and wood-products innovation, SAF serves as the prime implementer of this digital media initiative, building on prior work under the #ForestProud awareness program and leveraging relationships with Forest Service regional offices and research stations. The five-year performance period allows for sustained strategy development and content rollout designed to enhance visibility and market adoption of innovative wood products across federal natural-resource agencies and broader stakeholder networks.
