The City of Minneapolis, the awardee, will receive $500,000 over a 2-year period starting March 1, 2025 to deliver training and one-on-one coaching to help participating businesses, with a focus on minority-owned establishments, implement effective food waste prevention strategies. The goal is to divert commercial food waste from landfills and incinerators, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting environmental sustainability and economic vitality in Minneapolis neighborhoods.
