The Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Sex Offender Sentencing awarded a Cooperative Agreement to The Institute For Intergovernmental Research, Inc. for $854,962 effective October 1, 2025, under the Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program (CFDA 16.750). The award funds ongoing support for state, territory, and tribal jurisdictions to ensure public access to sex offender data via NSOPW.GOV, which is maintained on the OJP.GOV website. IIR will develop, administer, and support registry tools including the SORNA Exchange Portal, the Tribe and Territory Sex Offender Registry System (TTSORS), and the Sex Offender Registry Tool (SORT). IIR will continue to support jurisdictions and federal agencies in accessing and using these platforms, as well as develop and maintain a mobile application and social media presence promoting education and safety resources. IIR will provide training and technical assistance to SORNA jurisdictions and the public regarding NSOPW.GOV and the registry tools, with most support delivered remotely and onsite support as required. IIR will facilitate connectivity between the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR), maintained by the FBI, and TTSORS, reducing data entry burden for tribal users and lowering error risk. The period of performance extends through September 30, 2028, with place of performance in Tallahassee, Florida.
