THE NATIONAL SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION PROPOSES TO IMPLEMENT THE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FORMULA GRANTS PROGRAM. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT STATES AND TERRITORIES IN THEIR IMPLEMENTATION OF THEIR TITLE II PART B FORMULA GRANT PROGRAM. THE ASSOCIATION WILL OFFER THEM ACCESS TO SKILLED, TAILORED, ON-SITE AND VIRTUAL SUPPORT DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN THEIR CAPACITY TO COMPLY WITH THE JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION (JJDP) ACT CORE REQUIREMENTS. PROJECT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE DEVELOPING A TOOLKIT FOR STATES AND LOCALITIES ON HOW TO COMPLY WITH THE JAIL REMOVAL CORE REQUIREMENT, AND TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND ON-SITE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO SITES IDENTIFIED BY OJJDP (OR THAT SELF-IDENTIFY) AS HAVING DIFFICULTY COMPLYING WITH THE JAIL REMOVAL CORE REQUIREMENT.
