About this award

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) was awarded a $1 million cooperative agreement from the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Rural Violent Crime Initiative program to provide training and technical assistance to rural jurisdictions from November 1, 2021 through October 31, 2024. As one of two providers selected for this program, LISC will support improved community safety and partnerships in rural areas through training, technical assistance, and the administration of subawards totaling $1 million to twenty local and county law enforcement agencies, prosecutors' offices, and governments across eight states. This funding advances the program's goal of allocating resources to address violent crime in underserved rural communities through expanded community-based approaches and partnerships.
