Description

The office on violence against women (OVW) training and technical assistance (TA) initiative provides OVW grantees, subgrantees, and potential grantees and subgrantees with the expertise and support they need to develop and implement successful state, local, tribal, and campus projects; increase victim safety; and bolster offender accountability. Through cooperative agreements, OVW supports educational programming and resources, conferences, peer-to-peer learning, and targeted assistance that allows current and potential grantees and subgrantees to learn from experts and one another about how to overcome obstacles and incorporate promising practices in their efforts to address violence against women. In addition, OVW is focused on building the capacity of the criminal and civil justice systems and victim service providers to respond effectively to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and to foster partnerships between organizations that have not traditionally worked together to address violence against women. With FY 2025 TA initiative funding, the national alliance to end sexual violence (NAESV) will continue its national sexual assault housing collaborative to address sexual assault, homelessness, and housing project. NAESV will develop and revise resources as well as provide training and TA to sexual assault victim services providers, statewide sexual assault and dual sexual assault/domestic violence coalitions, stop violence against women formula grant program administrators, transitional housing programs, national housing organizations, and housing/homelessness services providers. These resources, training, and TA will focus on building the coordination between organizations that address housing needs and those that assist sexual assault victims in order to improve housing services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault. This project supports purpose area 47: TTA to the transitional housing consortium on sexual assault. This award is for years four and five of a five-year comprehensive TA project awarded competitively under the FY 2022 TA initiative solicitation.
