The U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) has awarded a $1,300,000 Cooperative Agreement under the OVW Technical Assistance Initiative (CFDA 16.526) to Activating Change, Inc., a non-profit organization focused on serving victims with disabilities and Deaf victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Through this 24-month award, Activating Change will collaborate with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network to provide basic and intermediate training and technical assistance to OVW grantees serving survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors. The project will orient new grantees, facilitate assessment and planning, host virtual training and peer learning sessions, provide consultations, and support grantees in measuring their progress to enhance their capacity to effectively respond to these underserved populations.
