Description
The office on violence against women (OVW) training and technical assistance (TA) initiative provides OVW grantees and subgrantees with the expertise and support they need to develop and implement successful state, local, tribal, and campus projects; increase victim safety; and bolster offender accountability. Through cooperative agreements, OVW supports educational initiatives, conferences, peer-to-peer consultations, and targeted assistance that allow current and potential grantees and subgrantees to learn from experts and one another about how to overcome obstacles and incorporate promising practices in their efforts to address violence against women. In addition, OVW is focused on building the capacity of the criminal and civil justice systems and victim service organizations to respond effectively to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and to foster partnerships between organizations that have not traditionally worked together to address violence against women. With FY 2023 TA initiative funding, caminar latino INC. Will implement the consolidated youth and engaging men program training and technical assistance project to provide training and technical assistance to the consolidated youth and engaging men (cyem) program grantees and potential grantees on the development of new projects and enhancement of current projects addressing the needs of children and youth who are exposed to or are victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and SEX trafficking. Training and technical assistance will be provided through a continuum of efforts that includes assistance with: intervention, response, and treatment of children and youth victims; prevention and outreach; direct victim services; school-based policy development and effective responses; and the mobilization of men and boys as allies to end violence against women and girls. Over the course of the project period, caminar latino INC. Will create a cyem program website with resources and information, deliver in-person trainings, conduct webinars, provide peer-to-peer connection opportunities, develop resources, and provide TA consultations. This project supports FY 2023 TA initiative purpose area 10: training and technical assistance for the consolidated children and youth and engaging men programs. This award is a new award.
