The Block Grants for Community Mental Health Services (CFDA 93.958) awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will provide $45,431,693.00 to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (PA DHS) from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026. This block grant funding enables PA DHS to deliver a comprehensive range of community-based mental health services across Pennsylvania, including outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment, crisis intervention, case management, housing assistance, peer support, workforce training, and public education campaigns. As the recipient of numerous federal grants and contracts, PA DHS has demonstrated its capability to effectively implement complex service delivery models and leverage partnerships with local organizations to provide these critical mental health support services to adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbances.
