The Air Education and Training Command (AETC) awarded a $76,080.93 firm fixed-price purchase order to Rockford Systems LLC for the installation of safety measures on nine machines at the Maintenance Fabrication Shop, Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas. The contract, awarded on September 22, 2025, with an ultimate completion date of February 25, 2026, was issued under full and open competition with no set-aside designation. Rockford Systems LLC, a small business based in Rockford, Illinois, specializing in industrial safety solutions and machine safeguarding services, will procure and install comprehensive safety equipment including emergency stop buttons, self-latching emergency stop palm stations, danger signs, universal ball and socket shields, combination disconnect/starter units, and protective guards on hydraulic iron workers, band saws, engine lathes, drill presses, and an orbital forming rivet spinner.
The work scope requires compliance with OSHA standards 1910.212 and 1910.145, as well as ANSI standards B11.8, B11.19, and NFPA 79 to ensure safe operation of the equipment used by the 47th Flying Training Wing Maintenance Squadron. Rockford Systems LLC brings relevant experience to this engagement, having previously completed a fabrication shop equipment safety survey for AETC valued at $14,345. The contractor was selected through a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation methodology and must complete all installation work at Laughlin Air Force Base within 90 days of receipt of order.
