The Department of the Interior National Park Service Southeast Region awarded a Purchase Order to Centurion Security Systems Inc., a small business, for $48,428 on September 25, 2026, under a Total Small Business set-aside for procurement and installation of a solar-powered community gate at Virgin Islands National Park.
Work is performed in St. John, United States Virgin Islands. The gate—approximately 5 feet high and 22 feet long—will be constructed of black aluminum with corrosion-resistant weatherproof finish, powered primarily by solar energy with battery backup and manual override, and equipped with wireless keypad entry, 20–25 access fobs, photoelectric sensors, contact safety edges, vehicle detection, automatic closing timer, audible/visual warning, anti-tailgating controls, and surge protection. The contractor obtains all required permits, coordinates inspections, submits product data and shop drawings for approval, and provides operation manuals, warranties, maintenance documentation, and training. The contractor's ultimate completion deadline is April 30, 2027.
