The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 5, awarded a purchase order to Global Solutions Americas LLC, a veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, for janitorial services at the Rhode Island National Wildlife Refuge Complex on September 24, 2026, with a ceiling value of $64,048.50 under a Total Small Business set-aside.
Work is performed at the Headquarters Building/Visitor Center in Charlestown, Rhode Island. The contractor provides weekly cleaning of bathrooms, breakroom, stairwells, lobby, and gallery areas; sanitizing high-touch surfaces; trash and recycling disposal; and window cleaning. Monthly services include elevators, corridors, classrooms, conference rooms, library, and offices with counter and shelf cleaning, vacuuming, and dust removal. The contractor supplies all cleaning products (environmentally friendly and non-toxic where possible) except toilet paper, tri-fold paper towels, and utilities, with Technical Coordinator approval required. Optional twice-weekly services and annual deep cleaning (professional carpet cleaning, floor stripping and buffing, ceramic tile scrubbing and sealing) are available.
The contract runs for a one-year base period from November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027, with four one-year option periods exercisable through October 31, 2031. Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST. The contractor maintains a janitorial log for each visit documenting completed tasks, discrepancies, and supply shortages, and complies with OSHA and fire prevention protocols.
