The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Region 5 (Pacific Southwest Region), awarded a purchase order to Emergency Vehicle Systems, LLC for $110,000 on September 22, 2026, to outfit eight fire emergency support vehicles with command equipment under a Total Small Business Set-Aside.
The order covers initial command build-ups for six 2026 Ford 4X4 Pick-Up Full Size Crew Cabs and two 2026 Ford Expeditions to Region 5 and National Fire standards. Requirements include 48–60 inch LED light bars with dual-color flashing modules, warning lights in multiple zones, 100-watt siren speakers with PA system and radio rebroadcast capability, siren/switch controllers with minimum nine-switch light control, Troy CC-WBOS-20 radio console, pre-wired radio harness installation for two agency mobile radios, and heavy-duty timed battery disconnect systems. All electrical systems must operate stand-alone and comply with OEM/manufacturer specifications, industry standards, applicable NFPA standards, and USDA Forest Service policy. The contractor must provide a minimum one-year warranty on all installations, components, wiring, connectors, and decals. Work is performed in Alpine, California. Period of performance runs through August 30, 2027, with a maximum of 30 calendar days allowed per vehicle for completion.
