The Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service awarded a purchase order to Molecular Devices LLC on September 25, 2026, for a high throughput screening system (FLIPR Penta) with a ceiling value of $349,128.50.
The system will be delivered and installed at the PWA Horticultural Crops Research facility in Corvallis, Oregon, with ultimate completion by November 24, 2026. The order includes installation, assembly, a minimum two-year warranty, and operator training. The system must process a full 96-well plate in approximately three minutes and deliver high-speed kinetic fluorescence imaging at up to 100 frames per second for GPCR activity measurement, integrated automated reagent dispensing compatible with kinetic imaging workflows, and high-sensitivity low-noise optical detection for reproducible kinetic readouts. The contractor must maintain compatibility with existing GPCR screening assays and workflows including Receptor-i technology for peptide-based biopesticide discovery. Delivery is required within 60 days of receipt of order.
