Description

Benin currently contributes two (2) battalions of peacekeepers. One (1) battalion on a one (1) year deployment to the united nations multidimensional integrated stabilization mission in mali (MINUSMA) and one battalion on a one (1) year deployment to the united nations organization stabilization mission in the democratic republic of congo (MONUSCO). The acota support documented in this SOW is a continuation of phase I of the acota self sufficiency initiative intended to enable benin to achieve enduring training self-sufficiency in support of AU and UN peace support operations (PSO). IT encompasses development of the force generation capability to mobilize, train, deploy, and support peacekeeping operations on the continent of africa in a 1-2 year time frame. Benin is a mature acota partner with the capacity and infrastructure sufficient to support training with leadership and technical assistance from acota and the international community. This effort will build on previous after action reviews and the beninese joint action plan (JAP) developed in phase I of the effort (see attachments 6 and 7).
