About this award
This is a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order contract awarded to The Aerospace Corporation, a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), by the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The contract is part of the Exploration and Space Communications (ESC) Projects Division's procurement of systems and services for operating satellites, space networks, and ground infrastructure. The $399,303.91 task order will provide network services to support the ESC's missions, which include engineering, operations, and sustainment of space communications, information technology, and data processing systems. The contract is not set aside and represents work done under a larger $709 million IDIQ contract that The Aerospace Corporation holds with NASA to provide specialized technical and advisory services across the agency's programs.
Description
Exploration and space communications (ESC) projects division is responsible for the procurement of ESC systems and activities in all engineering lifecycle phases. This includes procurement of operations, maintenance and sustainment support as well as procurement of new system elements and the modification of existing systems needed to operate satellites and space and ground networks. These systems include computers, communications, radio frequency (RF) equipment and the associated hardware and software, as well as build, maintain and upgrade the physical infrastructure (e.g., facilities) supporting the missions. ESC is also responsible for performing similar work on cooperative missions with other united states government agencies, foreign governments, and organizations. ESC is responsible for the IT architecture and security of their computer systems processing environmental data, and supporting both operational and administrative functions. This task is to provide support to the procurement development team and potentially the SEB for the sense contract acquisition, which will provide network services to the ESC.
