About this award
The Aerospace Corporation was awarded a delivery order contract by NASA's Goddard Space Center valued at approximately $1.41M to provide specialized system engineering support for the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program. Under this cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, The Aerospace Corporation delivered comprehensive technical support including the development of an integrated JPSS Data Product Specification that consolidated multiple technical documentation standards into a single baseline for the Multi-Mission System review. The contractor's deliverables spanned from May 2015 through December 2015 and included outline and template development, interim status review documents, final specification versions reviewed by NOAA and NASA Change Control Boards, and supporting technical briefings for program reviews and verification baseline development.
In addition to specification development, The Aerospace Corporation provided ongoing system engineering support to the JPSS Program System Engineering team, Project Science Team, and Algorithm Management Project in roles supporting calibration and validation planning, requirements flowdown, and algorithm specification development. The contract also included technical support for the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) instrument manager and covered research and engineering laboratory functions involving electronic and electromechanical system testing and modification, along with associated office and administrative support. The contract, which ran through September 30, 2019, was performed on-site and off-site at The Aerospace Corporation's headquarters in El Segundo, California, with no small business set-aside designation applied.
