Description
Support and maintenance of the ARTS IV in support of the launch vehicle adaptive controller (LVAC) research experiment. The ARTS IV system was developed to host research for the F/a-18 fast project. The ARTS IV provides an execution test-bed for research experiments, a safety critical interface to the F/a-18 flight computers, and interfaces for communications with instrumentation and other payloads. A key element to making this safety related research possible on this aircraft was the development of the ARTS IV. IT allows engineers to quickly and safely get research initiatives to flight with a minimal test cycle. Currently, NASA dryden is working toward test flying the LVAC in the ARTS IV with a flight testing scheduled to start around july 15, 2013. To meet this objective the contractor will be require to complete the following tasks: 1. Make minor modifications to the airborne research test system (ARTS) IV operational flight program (OFP). 2. Provide general support to NASA engineers. 3. Conduct and complete formal qualification test (FQT). 4. Generate formal OFP release documentation 5. Make minor modifications to the portable test computer (PTC) to correct archive data round off issue
