Description
Task order is issued to activate 1553 bus communications within the existing 68040 rfcs.statement of work activate 1553 bus communications within the existing 68040 rfcs NND08BO09T modify the 68040 rfcs computers to enable 1553 bus communications to and from the rfcs control laws. Minimize the round-trip time delay to and from an external H/W component (ARTS III) with a standard 1553B interface. Task 1 identify H/W interface changes required identify the H/W changes required to implement a MIL-spec 1553B (using existing spare pins, or an additional MIL-spec connector) on the F/a-18 G-4 FCC chassis and internal cabling from the connector to the 68040 rfcs 1553 interface. Identify any additional environmental qualification (if required) by the modification. Task 2 enable 1553 bus communication support develop and document the device driver software layer. Modify the rfcs ADA S/W to enable operation of the 1553B in concert with the rfcs control laws. Complete a trade study to determine if the 68040 should be a bus-controller or a remoteterminal in order to minimize the round-trip time delay to and from an ARTS III. Provide software and development documentation to NASA for the 1553 modification. Task 3 test the 1553 bus communications to and from the rfcs test the modified FCC H/W to verify identical performance to the production control laws, and verify the operation of the 1553 within the rfcs. Validate the performance of the control laws in the boeing hils environment. Provide documentation to NASA of the verification and validation results. Task 4 support NASA ground and flight tests of the 1553 bus to and from the 68040 rfcs provide engineering support and/or consultation as needed for ground and flight evaluation of the 1553 interface to and from the 68040 rfcs. Assumptions: dual bus design. Standard 1553B bus protocol. 128 parameters passed between the 68040 rfcs and the ARTS III over the 1553 at 160 HZ. Approximately 16 parameters will be passed through the rfcs ccdl for voting and redundancy. Government furnished property (GFP): flight control computer (FCC) hardware to be provided 2 months after ATP. Airborne research test system (ARTS) II or ARTS III computer will be provided 2 months after ATP. Any interface equipment and documentation for said equipment to support ARTS computer operation for test and evaluation purposes will be provided 2 months after ATP.
