Description

The performance work statement (PWS) specifies this task order is to perform inventory validation of existing 2Z COG C4I items (niins) at SSC pacific. Inventory data will be compared with nerp data to document and correct disparities. This inventory effort is being performed to assist in correcting needed quantities of equipment for lifecycle support. Spawar organic depots and in-service engineering agents (isea) use 2Z COG equipment carcasses (a and f condition units) for repair and sustainment of the 2Z COG equipments installed in the fleet. Many 2Z COG equipments contain parts that are no longer commercially available or carried in the supply system. Retaining needed equipments potentially saves DON significant funding by using these units to obtain obsolescent parts for repairs. The DON saves potentially millions of dollars by avoiding RE-engineering and manufacturing costs. At the same time, the depots and other locations (i.e. DLA warehouses) have quantities of some of these equipments that are well in excess of the numbers needed to sustain the remaining lifecycles of these systems. The storage of inappropriate excess units increases depot costs, storage and inventory costs. This work is anticipated to be a level of effort type task.
