The Department of the Navy is inviting bids for “BASE SUPPORT VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT (BSVE) AND FACILITY INVESTMENT SERVICES FOR PERIODIC INSPECTION SERVICE OF 130 TON MOBILE CRANES, REPLACE WIRE ROPE SERVICES OF LAND CRANE (LC PORTAL CRANES), AND MULTIPURPOSE SERVICES FOR VARIOUS CRANES IN THE U.S. COMMANDER FLEET ACTIVITIES YOKOSUKA.” INSTRUCTION TO BIDDER SECTION 1. This is a solicitation for commercial services issued as an Invitation for Bids (IFB). Written bids are required (oral offers will nto be accepted). Submissions must be in accordance with FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, Commercial Items. 2. Basis of Award: The Government anticipates a single award of a Firm Fixed Price contract. GENERAL INFORMATION This is a Sources Sought announcement for the purposes of MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. The information received will be utilized within the Navy to facilitate the decision making process and will not be disclosed outside of the agency. Specifically: The recurring portion consists of annual inspection services of mobile cranes for bearing slew tightness The non-recurring portion may consist of miscellaneous repair or maintenance tasks as they arise/as required toughout the contract performance period (for example: replacement of main and luffing hoist wire rope for portal (land) cranes, or unexpected replacement or repair, maintenance, and upgrade of various cranes) The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code selected for this procurement is 811310 -- Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance. The anticipated contract is a Firm-Fixed Price, Single Award, Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) Contract.
