Description

Advanced topographic laser altimeter system (ATLAS) programmatic and electro-optical support. This contract is to provide optical engineering and programmatic support to the ATLAS instrument on the ICE, cloud and land elevation satellite (ICESAT-2) mission. The ATLAS project is seeking a qualified contractor with current optical experience to support the development for the optical integrated products for the instrument. The contractor shall have the expertise and knowledge associated with the development of the specified space flight hardware and NASA S expectations of an instrument critical design review (CDR). The advanced topographic laser altimeter system (ATLAS) is the next generation of ICE thickness measurement lidar (light detection and ranging) altimeters being developed at goddard space flight center. This instrument will leverage heritage testing plans, procedures, and process developed for the geoscience laser altimeter system (GLAS) altimeter and lunar orbiter laser altimeter (LOLA) altimeter. This task supports very similar (to those previous laser altimeter instruments) flight activities for the ATLAS instrument.
