Description

The leadership decision making LDM course is a six-week blended training course designed to close the federal-aid knowledge/skill GAP. IT has been designed with a focus on leadership decision making skills and integrates OPM s leadership competencies. The course is instructed by fhwa staff using current case studies to demonstrate the use of a 13-step decision making model. The LDM course is a six-week blended training course. IT begins with a pre-course briefing to participants and their supervisors; no effort is needed from the contractor. The purpose of the pre-course briefing will be to make participants and supervisors aware of the expectations and time commitment to the course. This pre-course briefing is followed by a two day in-person kick-off session for all participants, coaches, and moderators. The kick-off session is scheduled for august 7 and 8, 2012 in lakewood, CO. The fhwa has reserved a conference room in the fhwa office building for the opening session. The first day of the kick-off session will include two fhwa provided sessions, the strengths deployment inventory (SDI) and your relationships matter. The trainers for these two sessions, support and materials will be provided by fhwa. After this opening kick-off session, all participants will meet virtually using web-conferencing technology (adobe connect web-conferencing technology and premier global services for the audio conference) approximately every two weeks for report-out sessions to present their team s case studies. The course concludes with a final session devoted to team report-outs, debrief of the course, and graduation. This final session will be conducted in the washington, DC, metropolitan area at a conference room provided and reserved by fhwa. Managers/supervisors of participant s who are unable to attend in person, will be asked to attend this final report-out session and graduation via video conference. Participants supervisors will be invited to the final report out session and graduation.
