Outreach Events Requirements â The specific Outreach event(s) requirements (listed below) will be evaluated by the AF SBIR STTR CRP PMO every year to assess the actual tempo, quantity and level of the specific participation to determine which events will be planned for and executed. The Contractor shall support all aspects of the AF SBIR STTR CRP PMO support program outreach and training in conjunction with the PMO to include the following: 2.1 Small Business Industry Days (SBID) The Air Force SBIDs are designed to maximize opportunities between the AF and Small Businesses. The SB participation in AF acquisitions by incorporating them into the supply chain, and pursue innovative technology transition opportunities. SBIDs are a strategic industry event that are intentionally and purposefully established to improve the Air Force's success in finding small business capabilities across our enterprise and emphasize that small businesses receive maximum practicable opportunities for our federal dollars. This is not only a priority for the Air Force, but is a national policy and law. The SBIDs are specifically tailored to address the AF Center/Laboratory CSSO needs to provide innovative real-world based solutions to those concerns that â keeps the AF up at nightâ . SBIDs came about in response to a SAF/AQR tasker requesting a more effective process to increase the AF SBIR CRP technology transition performance. In 2014, the AF SBIR STTR CRP Process Action Team (PAT) generated a solution based process and established the SBID concept. The Air Force SBIDs focus on small SBs and opportunities, by matching CSSOs from the Air Force Laboratories and Centers with SBCs and MDCs. SBIDs provide benefit to the Air Force by identifying and creating partnerships with a goal of increasing SB engagement and participation. The SBID event emphasizes SB technology capabilities, contract opportunities, and technology development prospects by matching CSSOs from the AF, SBC and MDC communities. SDRL DI- ADMN-81505/T DATA ITEM #A002 NOTE: SBID tempo is approximately 1-3 SBIDs annually, and is predicated on available AF SBIR STTR CRP funding amounts (tends to vary from year to year) and targeted AF SBIR STTR CRP PMO goals and objectives every year. 2.2 Technology Match Meeting (TMM) BACKGROUND: The AF CRP program conducts "technology match" meetings (TMM) for Major Defense Contractor (MDC) CSSOs. The AF SBIR STTR CRP Support Team identifies and invites qualified small businesses with Phase II AF SBIR STTR projects to participate in these meetings by data mining DOD AF SBIR STTR databases against AF center technology-based needs to address and provide solutions to the technology challenges that â keeps the MDCs up at nightâ . The "technology match meetingâ is focused on technology-based needs of specific MDC. These TMMs consist of a technology-based needs concept that has proven to be highly effective and beneficial to both the government and industry CSSOs. The Air Force, through this process, has generated a significant number of successful AF SBIR STTR Technology Transition Plans (STTP) with a goal of increasing the level of ROI. This is an AF unique process, which directly supports the Congressional CRP mandate to identify and accelerate technologies developed by SBs participating in the AF SBIR STTR CRP program into AF acquisition programs. In response to these meetings, the AF solicits MDCs annually to participate in TMMs. SDRL DI- ADMN-81505/T DATA ITEM #A002 NOTE: TMM tempo is approximately 3-6 TMMs annually, and is predicated on available AF SBIR STTR CRP funding amounts (tends to vary from year to year) and targeted AF SBIR STTR CRP PMO goals and objectives every year. 2.3 Air Force Pitch Days The Air Force Pitch Days are designed to maximize opportunities between the AF and Small Businesses. The SB participation in AF acquisitions by incorporating them into the supply chain, and pursue innovative technology transition opportunities. SBIDs are a strat

Tech-Warrior (TW) Events The Tech Warrior exercise(s) conducted by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and sponsored by the Air Force SBIR STTR program has become a key year-round enterprise administered by Wright State Research Institutes National Center for Medical Readiness in Fairborn, Ohio. The underlying purpose of this event is to seek out and accelerate the level of new technologies that actually transition and are used by the Warfighter and increase the level of ROI for the AF SBIR STTR CRP program. AFRL SB Networking Events (this not a separate position, but is intended to augment the Tech Warrior position (2.1) and will be required on an as needed basis ) Provide support to the AFRL SB PMO advocates and hosts Networking Events specifically targeted to identify, introduce, and counsel SBs interested in conducting business with the AF Laboratory and to promote opportunities for their inclusion into prime and subcontract awards. The AF actively promotes and provides access to the AF technology offices through a variety of different venues to get interested SBs involved with the AFRL technology POCs and potential CSSOs beyond the laboratories. In conjunction with external technology transfer efforts with other Agencies, DoD organizations, PIAs, Entrepreneurial programs, Universities, and Industry assist with the marketing, communications and brand management. Partnerships include AF, DoD PIAs, DoDs MD5, AFWERX, AFRLs Commercialization Academy, and University partnerships (examples include: Miami University, Purdue University, University of New Mexico, University of Dayton, Wright State University, University of Arizona, University of Montana, and Harvard University etc.). 2.1 Tech-Warrior (TW) Events The Tech Warrior exercise(s) â conducted by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and sponsored by the Air Force SBIR STTR program has become a key year-round enterprise administered by Wright State Research Instituteâ s National Center for Medical Readiness in Fairborn, Ohio. The underlying purpose of this event is to seek out and accelerate the level of new technologies that actually transition and are used by the Warfighter and increase the level of ROI for the AF SBIR STTR CRP program. Benefits of supporting this TW event have been categorized as: OPERATOR-CENTRIC ENVIRONMENT: Small businesses demonstrate their technologies with their target audience. The operators perform tasks as they would in the field, offering a rare glimpse into the rigors of combat or emergency response conditions. JOINT APPROACH: Military as well as civilian operators are included in the events. This allows technology demonstration across a broader market space. COOPERATIVE SIMULATION: While operators participate in their own training, it is understood that they will integrate new technologies inside their scenarios. A blend of free-play and scripted scenarios will allow for dedicated to bringing military and civilian researchers together with academia and the business community to spur and accelerate innovative technology problem-solving and commercialization. The concept is a new concept for startups and small businesses to interact with the lab's scientists and managers, offering better insight into their mission needs. The 444 Innovation Hub leverages the Dayton regionâ s research capabilities to empower ongoing economic development, workforce attraction and military support by pairing non-traditional partners and providing collaborative workspace, networking and resources for them to achieve their goals.
