The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, through its Fire and Aviation Management directorate and the National Interagency Fire Center, has awarded a $7.1 million delivery order to Aero Air, LLC. This order was issued against the prime contractor's existing master indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle known as Next Generation Large Airtanker Services 3.0. Under the terms of the award, Aero Air will provide exclusive use of its Lockheed L-188 Electra, designated N294EA and call sign T-104, to support wildland fire suppression efforts across the country from March 2021 through December 2025. Performance will take place out of Aero Air's facility in Hillsboro, Oregon. The firm fixed-price contract utilizes a pricing structure to furnish the next-generation airtanker on an as-needed basis over the five-year period.
