The Department of the Army awarded a definitive contract to MSM Group North America Inc. to design, build, and commission a modern 155mm Load, Assemble, and Pack facility at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant with a ceiling value of $635.2 million on August 15, 2025. The contract carries no set-aside.
Place of performance is Middletown, Iowa. The facility will process and produce 155mm artillery projectiles at an optimized production rate of 36,000 M795 rounds per month, handling both conventional fills and insensitive munition fills. Work scope includes explosive safety site planning, process design, environmental permitting, facility construction, and commissioning. The facility will support global military requirements and upon completion will be operated by the IAAAP Government-Owned, Contractor-Operated contractor.
The contract is priced as fixed price with economic price adjustment and runs through August 10, 2029. Subcontractors include Klingner & Associates PC for contaminated water treatment facility engineering and design, Weiss Technik North America Inc. for modular oven design services, Wieland Corporation for facilities design and construction, Integrated Production Systems Inc. for system design and manufacturing, and Dettx LLC for engineering design and site safety planning support.
