This is a sole source contract awarded by the Naval Sea Systems Command to Raytheon Technology to upgrade up to eight AN/AQS-20A minehunting sonars to the AN/AQS-20C configuration. The $69,494,409 contract has a base period of performance of 12 months with an optional 12-month period. The upgrade work includes furnishing government property AN/AQS-20A units, engineering design, development, production, integration, testing, and performance verification. As the original equipment manufacturer of both the AN/AQS-20A and AN/AQS-20C sonars, Raytheon is the only known source capable of providing the required upgrade to the Navy within the timeline to support the Mine Countermeasures Mission Package delivery for the Fleet. This contract was not set aside and was awarded under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, for procurements where there is only one responsible source.
