About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Technology to upgrade a minimum of ten AN/AQS-20A minehunting sonars to the AN/AQS-20C configuration. As the original equipment manufacturer of both sonar systems, Raytheon is the only known source capable of providing the upgrade to support fleet readiness within the required timeframe. The scope of work includes furnishing government property, engineering, production, integration and testing to update the AN/AQS-20A units. Anticipated award date is February 2021.
There is no set-aside designated for this procurement. As the incumbent and OEM, Raytheon provided the previous AN/AQS-20C LRIP contract. The statutory authority for sole source is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) implemented through FAR 6.302-1, as Raytheon is the only responsible source able to satisfy the agency's requirement to support the fleet in the timeframe necessary. The pre-solicitation notice does not provide budget ranges or specific NAICS/PSC codes, but the quantity of sonars to be upgraded is a minimum of ten units.
