The contract was originally awarded by the U.S. Forest Service (contract AG-8371-P-14-0083) and is being re-issued and transferred to the NPS in order to facilitate the transition of the project to NPS management. The contract has a firm fixed price of $369,515.76 and a completion date of September 30, 2016. It is a set-aside for small businesses.
Description
Banco bonito thinning project - contract RE-issue the valles caldera national preserve (vall), transitioned to management by the national park service on 1 october 2015. This contract (P16PC00082), is the RE-issuance and transfer of a pre-existing U.S. Forest service contract, (AG-8371-p-14-0083), for forest thinning / fuels management work, in the banco bonito sector of the vall. The new NPS contract is being executed in order to facilitate the transition of overall NPS management of the project, and to bring the contract into conformance with requirements of the department of the interior's (DOI), financial business management system (fbms). There is a definite need for the work of the current contract to proceed in an expeditious manner. A new procurement would be disruptive and have a negative impact on the ability of vall to meet its fuels management needs, and will provide no tangible benefits to the government. RE-issuance / transfer of the existing contract is the most advantageous method of fulfilling the government's needs. The incumbent contractor is performing work under the existing contract in a completely satisfactory manner, and IT is highly unlikely that a new solicitation and award would beneficially affect or enhance the pricing, performance, or quality of services currently being provided by the incumbent contractor. All terms and conditions of the original contract remain unchanged. All remaining work of the original contract must be completed by 30 september 2016.
