About this award
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention awarded a $2.8 million firm fixed price contract to Laboratory Corporation of America, operating as Labcorp, to provide residual blood specimen collection and SARS-CoV-2 serology testing services under the Multistate Assessment of SARS-CoV-2 Seroprevalence study. Labcorp will collect approximately 33,800 residual sera samples per month from all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, distributed by age, and test for SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antibodies and spike IgG antibodies. Seropositive specimens will undergo reflexive microneutralization testing. Data reports are due every eight weeks over the eleven-month base period, with an optional twelve-month extension. The CDC solicitation sought these services to estimate SARS-CoV-2 infection rates nationally, geographically and among demographics over time through the MASS-C study. There is no set-aside designation for this contract funded by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Pittsburgh.
