The National Park Service awarded an $85,749 definitive contract to Abegglen Construction Inc. for historic building relocation services on September 23, 2026, under a total small business set-aside.
The work stabilizes and relocates a historic barrack building at Minidoka National Historic Site in Jerome, Idaho across two mobilizations. The initial phase includes separation from the existing foundation, relocation to a temporary location, and structural stabilization measures—temporary bracing, framing, lifting points, and cribbing—to safely execute the lift. The building will remain at the temporary stabilized location through approximately May 2027 to permit Historic Preservation Training Center staff to perform structural repairs to floor framing. The second mobilization, following completion of those repairs, involves remobilization and final relocation to the permanent foundation. Place of performance is Jerome, ID 83338. The contract carries firm fixed pricing and an ultimate completion date of May 31, 2027.
