Description
NASA armstrong flight research center (afrc) has two advanced concept technology demonstration (actd) global hawk (GH) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and supporting equipment that were acquired from the USAF. NASA shall use these air vehicles to provide a unique national civilian capability to fly government and civilian organization airborne science payloads on high-altitude, over-the-horizon, and long-duration missions. The NASA global hawk uavs have been configured so that they are different from any other global hawk UAV currently in service. The dfrc global hawk program requires a payload engineer with extensive knowledge of the global hawk aircraft, unique NASA payload systems and ground control station, and the scientific payloads that are being integrated into the NASA global hawk. An in-depth knowledge of the NASA global hawk system is required to ensure that payloads can be safely integrated while meeting the unique requirements for the NASA systems, such as environmental, power, and data requirements.
