Description

"other functions" - the climate program office (CPO) is a federal office in NOAA's office of oceanic and atmospheric research (OAR). CPO and its research partners conduct a wide range of research into complex climate systems and how they work to improve their ability to predict climate change and variation in both the shorter term, like cold spells or period of drought, and over longer terms like decades and beyond. This project is to provide CPO with a range of discreet and recurring climate science-related communications, education, and engagement tasks and deliverables that are needed to support NOAA's climate literacy implementation plan (clip) for a period ftwelve (12) months from the award of the order. In order to communicate with, educate and engage diverse target publics about NOAA's and its partner's climate sciences and services, the CPO requires ongoing design, development, and production of accessible and easy-to-understand information resources -- including science writing and editing, scientific data visualizations, illustrations, graphics and interface design, programming, photography, and videography. These resources shall be published in a range of the agency's in-reach and outreach programs -- including but not limited to NOAA's climate.GOV portal, the CPO's websites, science on a sphere, digital planetariums, digital video disks (DVD-ROM), streaming video over the internet, live-audience presentations, and posters and printed materials for display and handout.
