Description

Provide an engineering assessment (EA) as part of pre-critical decision (CD)-1 activities to support conceptual design of a preferred alternative for enduring PIT production and related plutonium operations. NA-10 recently completed the plutonium PIT production analysis of alternatives (AOA) to identify a preferred alternative for meeting the nnsa PIT production capability GAP. The AOA identified two preferred alternatives with different construction approaches at different locations. The purpose of this EA is to evaluate the technical and functional feasibility, and provide pre-conceptual engineering designs, of the two AOA alternatives.
