The work involves developing a multi-dimensional risk exploration checklist matrix to improve risk identification across the product and work breakdown structures. This contract is not associated with a set-aside program. ISL, an employee-owned technology development company, will perform the work from Rockville, MD. The contract is issued under the Professional Services Schedule (PSS) contract vehicle.

Description

OT:: osma has been corresponding with the aeronautics research mission directorate (ARMD) on the challenges in systematically evaluating the risk trade space for complex programs/projects. ARMD has done some initial work developing a multi-dimensional risk exploration checklist matrix, spanning the product breakdown structure (PBS) and the work breakdown structure (WBS) that partitions program/project activities into finely-divided and well-defined elements within which risk identification can be performed, greatly reducing the potential for gaps in the application of risk identification efforts. This matrix-based approach to risk identification shows promise as a potentially powerful tool for promoting completeness in the identification and consideration of risks throughout the system and at the points in the program/project life cycle where they first emerge or are introduced.
