Wortham Independent School District

Wortham Independent School District (Wortham ISD) is a U.S. local government educational entity located in Wortham, Texas, registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) since 2009. As a school district, the organization primarily receives federal grants to support educational programming and resource allocation for students in the region. The district's primary mission is to provide comprehensive educational services to students in the Wortham area, with a focus on supporting schools with diverse student populations and implementing targeted educational improvement strategies.

Through multiple federal grant awards, Wortham ISD has received funding from the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education for the Small, Rural School Achievement Program, which provides consistent annual support from 2021 to 2025. The district has also secured sub-awards from the Texas Education Agency for various critical educational initiatives, including Title I, Part A programs that provide supplemental resources for schools with high concentrations of low-income students. Additional grant funding has been obtained for COVID-19 response efforts, such as the CRRSA Act's ESSER II and the American Rescue Plan's ESSER III funding, which aimed to support safe school operations and address pandemic-related educational challenges. The Texas Department of Agriculture has also provided sub-awards to the district, demonstrating Wortham ISD's ability to secure grants from multiple state-level agencies to support educational programming, school improvement efforts, and student achievement initiatives.
