About the company

Wesleyan College is a private, nonprofit, minority-serving liberal arts college for women located in Macon, Georgia. It was chartered in 1836 and was the first college in the world to grant degrees to women. The college focuses on educating the next generation of female world leaders and empowering women to do significant work.

Wesleyan College has received several prime federal grant awards in recent years to enhance its institutional capacity, address workforce needs, support student success initiatives, improve campus safety, and provide financial aid. Through grants from the Department of Education, the college has implemented activities to retain STEM students, provide emergency aid during the COVID-19 pandemic, address Georgia's nursing shortage by expanding nursing programs, and support recruitment and retention of low-income, high-achieving STEM students. The college also received funding from the National Science Foundation to increase STEM degree completion rates, and from the Department of Justice to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus through prevention, education, victim services, security strategies, and coordinated community response efforts with local partners. Additionally, Wesleyan College received CARES Act funding for institutional and emergency student aid during the pandemic. The college was also awarded a sub-grant from the Georgia Department of Education under the ESSER III program.
