About the company
Safe Families For Children is a nonprofit, volunteer movement that provides hope and support to families in crisis by temporarily hosting children and providing a network of support to families while they get back on their feet. The goal is to keep children safe and ultimately together with their families.
Through sub-federal grant awards from the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services and the Colorado Department of Human Services, Safe Families For Children develops and provides community-based support and extended family-like relationships for struggling families through a network of compassionate volunteers motivated to keep children safe and ultimately together with their families. Parents can temporarily place their children in safe, loving homes (host family homes) where they are cared for (average of three weeks) while other volunteers (coaches, friends and resource friends) wrap around and support the parent to help them get back on their feet, reach their goals and restore stability to their lives through coaching and friendship support. Recent awards have extended contract periods, increased funding for services, and amended exhibits related to program requirements and deliverables.
