Prime Time Family Reading Inc., a Louisiana-based non-profit organization registered in SAM.gov since 2006, specializes in providing humanities-based programming and early childhood education services to economically and educationally vulnerable families. With a 30-year track record, the organization has delivered award-winning programming to over 100,000 parents, caregivers, and children across 40 states, with a core mission to create preconditions for future learning by supporting parents as their child's primary educator and developing innovative literacy programs that promote school readiness and active citizenship.
Prime Time Family Reading has received substantial federal grant funding through multiple channels and programs. Most significantly, the organization received two major Head Start and Early Head Start project grants from the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF) totaling $15,174,526, awarded in November 2025 and September 2025, both extending through October 2030. These grants support comprehensive early childhood education, health, and family support services for low-income children from birth to compulsory school age in Louisiana. Additionally, Prime Time received a $199,979 project grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in October 2021 to develop a bilingual book series titled "A More Perfect Union," which targeted literacy and civic engagement among families with young children, reaching an estimated 1,115 participants across Louisiana and other states through at-home learning kits, site-based programs, and online resources. The organization also received American Rescue Plan funding from the Office of Head Start in April 2021. Beyond prime grants, Prime Time has been the recipient of multiple sub-grant awards from the Louisiana Department of Administration under the Food and Nutrition Program for Louisiana Children, with awards dating from March 2021 through May 2025, demonstrating ongoing partnership in nutrition support for children.
