About the company
Pennsylvania Library Association is the state's oldest and most diverse professional library organization serving libraries, library employees, library trustees, and Friends of the Library groups. Through federal grants, Pennsylvania Library Association provides services to develop and improve library services and community collaborations, support and enhance skills of library staff and leadership, advance delivery of library services, improve public library community engagement, increase access and ability to use digital library services and content, and develop services for underserved populations.
Specific services provided through past federal grants include: developing lifelong learning and literacy programs for all ages; facilitating professional development for academic librarians; providing leadership development workshops for librarians; expanding access to integrated library systems; advancing textbook affordability initiatives; and offering inclusive humanities programming for teens. These services have been funded through Library Services and Technology Act grants from the Department of Education Pennsylvania, with Pennsylvania Library Association serving as a sub-awardee collaborating with prime grantees.
