Peace And Development Center

Peace And Development Center, doing business as PDC, is an entity registered to receive awards from the U.S. federal government. It is structured as a non-profit organization based on the business types listed in SAM.gov.

Through a sub-contract award from prime contractor Dexis Interactive Incorporated, PDC has provided training workshops for journalists on conflict-sensitive reporting in Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. The training aimed to improve the capacity of participants to support fair, accurate, and responsible reporting of the June 2021 elections, thereby reducing the risk of triggering violence. The activity objectives included identifying and training journalists, improving their capacity for responsible coverage, and mitigating conflicts that could destabilize the reform process.

Under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Agency for International Development Ethiopia, PDC has implemented the "Community Dialogue and Reconciliation for Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding (CIP) Project." This grant program, with a funding amount of $1,409,769, focuses on conflict transformation and peacebuilding efforts running from March 2020 to May 2024. Additionally, PDC has served as a sub-grantee under Mercy Corps, conducting conflict mapping to identify conflict causes, dynamics, trends, and actors, and strengthening capacities in Oromia regional state, East and West Hararge.
