Mount Airy City School District

Mount Airy City School District is a U.S. State Government entity registered in SAM.gov since December 2006, with a current registration expiration date of August 2024. As a school district, Mount Airy provides educational services to students.

Through federal grant sub-awards, Mount Airy City School District has provided COVID-19 screening testing programs to support in-person learning, funded by the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The district has also received Title I funding of $527,846 from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to provide specialized instructional services to disadvantaged students. Additionally, Mount Airy has been the subrecipient of CRRSA ESSER II and III grants as well as CARES Act funds from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, likely using the money for purposes such as developing strategies and implementing public health protocols to maintain safe in-person instruction, addressing learning loss among students, providing mental health services and supports, and preparing schools for reopening. Based on this history of grant awards, Mount Airy City School District seems to utilize federal funding to enhance educational services and student well-being, particularly in light of challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past few years.
