About the company
Lockport Area Special Education Cooperative, doing business as Lasec, is a U.S. government entity and school district registered to receive federal awards. It is a local school district cooperative likely focused on providing special education services and resources to member districts in its geographic area.
Lasec has received multiple sub-awards from the Illinois State Board of Education through federal grant programs like IDEA Part B and IDEA Preschool funds. The sub-awards indicate Lasec uses these funds to provide staff, materials, and child find activities to locate children needing special education services across its member districts. It also uses IDEA Flow Through funds to offset administrative costs and provide professional development for cooperative and district employees related to special education. The descriptions suggest Lasec's main role is acting as an administrative body and service provider to coordinate and enhance special education resources and capabilities for its member school districts.
