About the company
International Poultry Council Inc. (IPC) is a non-profit organization representing over 95% of the global poultry trade and production. Through federal grants, IPC provides services related to developing and implementing policies and best practices to reduce antimicrobial resistance, transmission of zoonotic diseases, and biosecurity threats in the poultry industry.
IPC has received multiple federal subawards from Cargill, Incorporated to support the TRANSFORM project. Across these subawards, IPC assisted with developing strategies and materials to engage poultry companies and associations on adopting antimicrobial use and stewardship principles. IPC also revised training programs to incorporate antimicrobial use best practices, identified relevant policies for scientific review, supported private sector engagement, and provided inputs on project planning and monitoring. The goal of these efforts was to increase industry-wide adoption of policies and practices to mitigate risks related to antimicrobial resistance, transboundary animal diseases, and zoonoses.
