About the company
Gradska Knjiznica, a non-profit organization based in Zadar, Croatia, acts as a prime recipient of federal educational and cultural grants from the U.S. Department of State, delivering programming centered on American cultural engagement, educational opportunity, and diplomatic outreach through its American Corner Zadar affiliate.
Gradska Knjiznica is a non-profit entity with no federal contracting footprint — all twelve federal awards in the source are project grants, and all twelve are prime awards with zero sub-recipient activity. The vendor operates exclusively as a grant recipient, not as a contractor on IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, or agency vehicles. Its customer concentration is narrow and singularly focused: the Department of State accounts for 11 of 12 awards (92% coverage) across three bureaus. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs funds 7 awards; the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and Bureau of Public Affairs each fund 2 awards. Combined federal dollars obligated across all awards total $158 thousand, reflecting the scale and nature of grant-supported public diplomacy programming rather than commercial service delivery.
Gradska Knjiznica's recent award activity shows grant work centered on American Corners programming — the State Department's network of cultural and educational hubs. Representative grants include a project grant awarded October 1, 2026 (most recent), running through December 31, 2027, supporting the American Program of Leadership, Learning, and Opportunity with over 50 educational and cultural activities and alumni-supported events; a January 1, 2026 grant for promoting American excellence and U.S. economic interests through December 31, 2026; and a January 1, 2025 grant focused on creating welcoming environments promoting green environment and space exploration programming, running through December 31, 2025. Earlier representative work includes a January 1, 2024 grant supporting STEAM culture, green environment, and space exploration at American Corner Zadar, and an October 2022 grant supporting an American Corners Western Balkan workshop held in Zadar. Grant activity averaged roughly one award per year from 2021 through 2026, with two awards reaching completion inside the next twenty-four months.
This vendor profile does not align with federal contractor competitive intelligence or prime-contractor teaming signals. Gradska Knjiznica is a foreign non-profit implementing State Department public diplomacy and educational exchange programs, not a federal supplier of goods or services to other federal agencies.
