As a rural school district, George West ISD receives federal grant funding to support educational programs and initiatives that enhance student achievement, school safety, and operational effectiveness. The district's federal grant portfolio reflects its commitment to providing comprehensive educational services while addressing the unique challenges faced by rural and low-income school communities.

George West ISD has demonstrated sustained engagement with multiple federal grant programs administered through the Texas Education Agency and other federal agencies. The district's primary sources of federal support include Title I, Part A funding, which provides supplemental resources to help schools with high concentrations of low-income students meet state academic standards; Title II, Part A grants focused on improving teacher and principal quality and effectiveness; and Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants, which support well-rounded education, improved school conditions, and technology integration. Additionally, the district has received support through the Title V, Part B Rural and Low-Income School Program, designed to address resource constraints specific to rural districts by providing greater flexibility in federal fund utilization. In 2025, George West ISD became a prime recipient of a $500,000 School Violence Prevention Program grant from the Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, effective through September 2028, which supports evidence-based school safety programs, technology implementation, and coordination with local law enforcement. The district has also received sub-awards related to pandemic relief efforts, including ESSER II and ESSER III funding from the American Rescue Plan to address COVID-19 impacts, and support from the Texas Department of Agriculture for student nutrition and food service programs. This comprehensive grant portfolio demonstrates George West ISD's strategic utilization of federal resources to enhance student learning outcomes, improve instructional quality, strengthen school security, and support operational sustainability.
