Elkins Randolph County Regional Airport Authority

Elkins Randolph County Regional Airport Authority is a local government entity based in Elkins, West Virginia, registered in SAM.gov since August 1, 2001, with its current registration set to expire on October 30, 2025. Located at 400 Airport Rd in Elkins, the airport authority manages and operates the regional airport, serving the transportation infrastructure needs of Randolph County. As a U.S. local government and airport authority, the organization is primarily focused on maintaining and improving airport facilities to ensure safety, efficiency, and infrastructure resilience.

The airport authority has been the recipient of multiple federal grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), specifically through the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106). These grants have consistently supported critical infrastructure and safety enhancement projects. The primary focus of their grant-funded work has been obstruction removal and airport infrastructure maintenance, including a multi-phase tree obstruction removal project involving easement acquisitions across multiple parcels. Specific grant-funded activities include sealing and resurfacing runway and apron pavements, removing non-hazardous trees that obstruct airport standards, acquiring easements, and conducting biological assessments. The grants, ranging from $129,444 to $544,237, have been awarded between 2021 and 2025, with project completion dates extending through 2029. Some grants were also specifically tied to COVID-19 economic relief, providing funding for operational costs, cleaning, sanitization, and pandemic response measures under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
