About the company
Eastern Pennsylvania Coalition For Abandoned Mine Reclamation (EPCAMR) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving water quality and reclaiming abandoned mine lands in Eastern Pennsylvania. Through federal grants, EPCAMR serves as a liaison conducting assessments, monitoring, and communicating recommendations for stream improvements and best practices.
EPCAMR has received federal sub-awards to conduct field assessments of streamside conditions and impediments to aquatic passage in the Wyoming Valley, recommend future projects to partners, and pilot an athletic facility on 14 reclaimed acres of Abandoned Mine Land in Swoyersville Borough. Additional federal funds have supported nonpoint source management programs focused on impaired watersheds, including implementing structural and non-structural best management practices, watershed planning and monitoring, technology demonstrations, and public outreach. These sub-awards have been through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and EPA Section 319 programs.
