Dewar School District I008

Dewar School District I008, doing business as Dewar School District, is a U.S. local government school district located in Dewar, Oklahoma, that receives direct federal grants from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education as a prime recipient, supplemented by pass-through sub-grants from Oklahoma's State Department of Education. The district does not hold federal contracts and operates exclusively in the federal grant ecosystem.

Dewar School District's federal grant portfolio centers on three recurring formula and project grant programs from the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. The district holds prime recipient status on the Small, Rural School Achievement Program (awarded annually each July since 2022, with the most recent award issued July 1, 2026, running through September 30, 2027), the Indian Education Formula Grants to LEAs (awarded annually each July since 2022, with grants running twelve months), and the Impact Aid Program, Title VII, Section 7003 (project grants awarded in October 2022, October 2023, October 2024, and October 2025, with multi-year performance periods extending through September 2028, 2029, 2030, and 2031 respectively). These three programs account for all fourteen prime grant awards in the source data spanning 2022 through 2026. As a sub-recipient, Dewar School District receives fourteen pass-through awards from Oklahoma's State Department of Education, consisting primarily of nutrition reimbursement funding (eleven awards for child nutrition programs) and supplementary sub-grants for school improvement and academic achievement initiatives (three sub-awards covering Oklahoma's Champions of Excellence Initiative, Title IV, Part A school improvement funding, and Title I academic standards compliance support).

The district's customer base is concentrated in two federal agencies. The Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education accounts for all sixty prime and sub-award activity (100% coverage), with the Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service accounting for twelve awards—all sub-awards flowing through the Oklahoma State Department of Education for nutrition program reimbursement. Combined dollars obligated across the seventy-two awards total $4.3 million. Activity has accelerated in the past two years, growing from three awards in 2022 to eleven in 2024, though recent volume declined to seven in 2025 and three in 2026. Only two awards face ultimate completion within the next twenty-four months, indicating limited near-term recompete exposure for the district's federal funding streams.
