About the company
Deafhope is a non-profit organization that works to end violence against Deaf women and children by providing support, information, and advocacy to empower Deaf survivors. Through subawards from federal grants, Deafhope builds capacity of other Deaf organizations to address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking in Deaf communities.
Specifically, Deafhope has received federal subawards to provide training and technical assistance to increase Deaf organizations' ability to serve Deaf and Deaf/Blind survivors, build capacity of Deaf organizations to address violence through a project called Deaf Action, provide culturally-responsive advocacy services to Deaf, hard of hearing, DeafBlind and DeafDisabled survivors in Wisconsin, and conduct outreach and services to Deaf and hard of hearing domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. These federal subawards have been provided through Departments of Justice, prime recipients Vera Institute of Justice, Activating Change, Norcal Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and other partners.
